About

I’m Nick Menard, an NPRA-registered equine and rodeo photographer based on our ranch in Central Oregon.

I started photographing horses in 2018 at the World Clydesdale Show in Madison, Wisconsin, after years of watching my wife ride and train. Today my wife and I run a breeding program focused on athletic draft-cross horses, so I spend every day studying how livestock move. That knowledge lets me anticipate the split-second moments—hair flying, dirt exploding, power and balance at their peak—instead of just holding the shutter and hoping.

I shoot everything from large international shows to small schooling events, but I love the high energy and drama of rodeo most. Clients keep coming back for the razor-sharp, high-shutter-speed images that freeze the action cleanly and make the intensity of the moment jump off the screen.

Based in Central Oregon, I travel throughout the Pacific Northwest and have worked events in Canada, Scotland, and Florida. If you want action photos that feel as powerful as the ride itself, let’s talk.
